Next on my list ..... Olympics

Well, I've done it. I just signed up to accomplish one of the goals on my "Things I would like to Conquer" list. I'll be running the Dismal Swamp Stomp Half Marathon this April. I need to start running ASAP so that I won't end up crawling past the finish line.

If anyone would like to join me, just follow this link.

I started looking for a half marathon beginner schedule and I liked the quote they added at the end.

"Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Aww good for you, Marjorie! That's an amazing goal to accomplish. I'd like to say I'll join you.. but I'm no where near as good a runner as you. I'm still tackling 1.5 miles right now... and that's with jogging AND walking lol.

Btw, I got your FB message. I'll respond ASAP!

Ugh. I don't think I can do the marathon. :( I think my asthma flared up again after I had bronchitis. I think I'm going to try out either another 5K or a 10K. I'm thinking about starting an online support group for working out...more details to come later. Good luck training!

Janelle: You could do it too. I'm not a good runner either. I definitely take my time and start walking if I get a cramp or something.

A.Rose: That sucks about your asthma. I know you'd still smoke all the people running the 1/2 marathon even if your asthma was bothering you. I hope you feel better though.
