I decided to take a break from my natural wave. I blow dried my hair and used a 1.5 inch curling iron to curl my hair. The night before I had gone to a baby shower and then to a bar. My hair smelled terrible like smoke and fried food. I shampooed with Herbal Essences Shampoo for Color, Permed, Dry and Damaged Hair to really cleanse my hair. It contains Sodium Lareth Sulfate but, no silicones. I conditioned with Back to Basics Pomegranate Moisturizing Conditioner. Before I blow dried, I used Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Protective Spray, Giovanni Frizz Be Gone, and coconut oil. The Tresemme Spray contains Amodimethicone (slightly soluble silicone). The Giovanni Frizz Be Gone contains Cylomethicone (slightly soluble silicone) and Dimethicone (non-soluble silicone). Even though it contained Dimethicone, I hoped it being an "organic" product, the build up wouldn't be so bad. I like the smoothness and shininess it gave me. I can't really report on the build up yet because I haven't had an opportunity to use it multiple times yet.
I believe cutting out the frequent use of harsh sulfate shampoos from my hair routine has helped with the health of my hair. I think it's been about a month, before today, since I used a shampoo that contained Sodium Lareth Sulfate. Before I used CG products and straightened or curled my hair, my hair always looked so dry. It definitely looks a lot shinier than before.

OOOh your hair looks so pretty like that too! I like it a lot.
your hair looks super pretty!
Now that my hair's a little longer I think I can use a 1.5" iron. If only I can get my hair to look like yours...
nice
What gorgeous hair you have!
Hey gorgeous! How are you? Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love your hair btw! And yeah I feel ya, sometimes I feel like I gotta drag myself to the gym!
Janelle, MakeupByRenRen, Jjavier, Sage Vivant: Thank you very much.
A.Rose: Let me know how it goes if you get the 1.5" curling iron.
Vanessa: Thanks for stopping by. Love your blog! I'm training for a 1/2 marathon so that's been my main motivation for going to the gym. I know if I don't train now, I'll be crying across the finish line.
Any update on the Frizz be Gone? Has it built up on your hair? I am thinking of buying it (because it is organic), but want to know how bad the dimethicone in it is. TIA :)
Nancy: On the Frizz Be Gone, I use it maybe 2-3 times a month and haven't had a problem with buildup. I'm not strict CG either and do use products that have silicones that are slightly soluble. I'm sorry I couldn't be of any more help.
Thanks for stopping by!
